Join us on a meaningful road trip from Ghana through Togo and into Benin, following routes that once connected powerful African societies. This journey also traces key parts of the Transatlantic Slave Route across all three countries, offering insight into a shared history that shaped the African Diaspora.
We begin by driving through Ghana via the spectacular Volta Region, taking in changing landscapes, border communities, and everyday life as we continue east towards Togo.
Along the way, we will visit important heritage and historical sites (see our Rachel Okello at the Wood House for captured slaves in Togo). We will visit location that tell stories of African strength, spirituality, trade, and resistance.
The experience is balanced with time for rest and relaxation, including moments to enjoy the beach and ocean, creating space to pause, reflect, and recharge.
We will visit the Port of Lome in Togo - the regions only deep water port and Cotonou in Benin - one of the most modern cities in West Africa.
We will experience and compare each country’s culture, traditions, language, and way of life. This journey goes beyond sightseeing. It is designed to help us reconnect with our shared heritage while celebrating the living cultures of West Africa.
